HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1996 1204 CC ADJMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California December 4, 1996 An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held on December 4, 1996, in the Council Chambers of said City located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lawrason called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Brown, Hunter, Perez, Wozniak and Mayor Lawrason Staff Present: Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; Ken Gilbert, Director of Public Works; Nelson Miller, Director of Community Development; Dorothy Vandaveer, Deputy City Clerk; and Susan Meyer, Records Clerk 4. PRESENTATIONS /ACTION /DISCUSSION: A. Consider the Review and Approval of Lighting Plans for Major Modification No. 1 to CPD 90 -2 on the Application of American Stores Properties, Inc. Staff Recommendation: Approve the lighting plans with the following revisions: (A) The fixtures adjacent to the westerly driveway along Tierra Rejada Road by the residential. properties be replaced with the shoe -box fixture not exceeding a height of 14 feet; (B) Approve the lantern style fixtures with a 30 inch high round cement base below the cast aluminum decorative base in the parking lot area with a total maximum height of 20 feet. Mr. Miller gave the staff report. AT THIS POINT in the meeting the Council recessed to view a sample lighting display in the Community Center parking lot. The time was 6:41 p.m. The Council reconvened at 6:55 p.m. Sean Robert, 1990 S. Bundy Drive, 4th Floor, Los Angeles, addressed the Council representing the applicant'.and stated that the lighting had been modified per the Council's direction. Minutes of the City Council. December 4, 1996 MOTION: Councilmember Wozniak moved and Councilmember Hunter seconded a motion to 1) approve the revised lighting standards as proposed by the applicant on December 4 to include a raised planter around each pole and a light pole and fixture as was displayed at the City Council meeting with a decorative fixture to include scroll work with a maximum height of 20 feet; 2) Direct the Director of Community Development to work with the architect on t: .-.e design of the eight lights in the rear of the project which shall be subject to the approval of the Director of Communit:, Pevelopment.. The motion carried by unanimous voice ,rote. ADJOURNMENT: MOTION: Councilmember Wozniak moved and seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting. by unanimous voice vote.
