HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1997 0604 CC SPCMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California June 4, 1997 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held on June 4, 1997, in the Council Chambers of said City located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Hunter called the meeting to order at 5:50 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Evans, Rodgers Teasley, Wozniak, and Mayor Hunter. Absent: Councilmember Perez 3. CLOSED SESSION: MOTION: Councilmember Evans moved and Councilmember Wozniak seconded a motion to adjourn to Closed Session for a discussion of all items listed: A. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to Subdivision (b) to pursuant to: (Number of cases to be discussed - 7) B. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Initiation of litigation pursuant to Subdivision ( c ) of Section 54956.9 of the Government Code: (Number of cases to be discussed - 7) C. PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION (pursuant to Government Code Section 54957) Title: City Manager, Deputy City Manager, Director of Community Development, Director of Community Services, Public Works Director, City Clerk, Chief of Police, City Engineer, and City Attorney D. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION (Subdivision (a) of Section 54956.9 of the Government Code) Moorpark LeClub, et al vs. The City of Moorpark E. CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR (pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6) Agency Negotiator: Steven Kueny Employee Organization: Service Employees International Union Local 998, AFL-CIO, CLC owl.-16 Minutes of the City Council Moorpark, California Page 2 June 4, 1997 The motion carried by voice vote 4-0, Councilmember Perez absent for the vote. Present in Closed Session were all Councilmembers but Councilmember Perez, Steven Kueny, City Manager; Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; Cheryl Kane, City Attorney. Councilmember Perez joined the meeting at 6:15 p.m. Ms. Kane left the meeting at 6:20 p.m. The Council reconvened into Open Session at 6:50 p.m. Mr. Hare reported that by a vote of Councilmembers Hunter, Wozniak, Evans and Teasley, Councilmember Perez absent, the City Council directed the City Attorney to initiate a lawsuit and that the name of the case, defendants and other particulars will be disclosed to any person upon inquiry once the lawsuit has been formally commenced. He indicated there was no other action to report from Closed Session and that only items 3.B., 3.C., and 3.E. were discussed. 4. ADJOURNMENT: Mayor Hunter adjourned the mePtinrr nt ti-E;i n m ATTEST:
