Moorpark, California August 20, 1997
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held
on August 20, 1997 in the Community Center of said City located at 799
Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California.
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Hunter called the meeting to order at 5:21 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmember Evans, Perez, Rodgers Teasley,
Wozniak, and Mayor Hunter.
Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Richard Hare, Deputy
City Manager; Cheryl Kane, City Attorney; and Mary
Lindley, Director of Community Services
3. PRESENTATIONS /ACTION /DISCUSSION:
A. Confirm Preferred Hours for Moorpark Library. Staff
Recommendation: Confirm hours.
MOTION: Councilmember Wozniak moved and Mayor Hunter seconded a
motion to direct staff to provide to the County the following
preferred hours: Monday and Wednesday - 12 noon to 8:00 p.m.;
Tuesday and Thursday - 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday - 1:00
p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
4. CLOSED SESSION:
The City Manager announced that Item 4.B. on the agenda would be
discussed in Closed Session. Mr. Hare announced that the claims
of Susan Christina and Vince Cummings would be considered in
Closed Session.
Present in Closed Session were all Councilmembers; Steven Kueny,
City Manager; Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; and Cheryl Kane,
City Attorney. The time was 5:25 p.m.
B. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL ANTICIPATED LITIGATION
Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to Subdivision
(b) of Section 54956.9 of the Government Code: (Number of
cases to be discussed - 6)
The Council reconvened into open session at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Hare reported that by an unanimous vote of Councilmember
Evans, Perez, Teasley, Wozniak, and Mayor Hunter the City Council
rejected the claim of Vince Cummings and directed staff to so
notify the claimant.

Mr. Hare reported that by an unanimous vote of Councilmembers
Evans, Perez, Teasley, Wozniak, and Mayor Hunter the City Council
approved the claim of Susan Christina in the amount of $800.00.
