HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1998 0128 CC SPC 6:45MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California January 28, 1998 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held on January 28, 1998 in the Council Chambers of said City located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Hunter called the meeting to order at 6 :48 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Evans, Perez, Teasley, Wozniak and Mayor Hunter. Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; John Nowak, Assistant City Manager, and Captain Mike Lewis. 3. PUBLIC COMMENT: There were no public comments. 4. CLOSED SESSION: MOTION: Councilmember Perez moved and Councilmember Wozniak seconded a motion to adjourn to closed session for a discussion of Item 4.D as listed below: A. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to Subdivision (b) of Section 54956.9 of the Government Code: (Number of cases to be discussed - 4) B. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Initiation of litigation pursuant to Subdivision (c) of Section 54956.9 of the Government Code: (Number of cases to be discussed - 4) C. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION (Subdivision (a) of Section 54956.9) City of Moorpark vs. Southern California Edison, et al D. CONFERENCE WITH REAL PROPERTY NEGOTIATOR Property: 23 W. Los Angeles Avenue Negotiating Parties: The City Council of the City of Moorpark and Sunbelt Properties Under Negotiation: Price and terms of payment. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote. Present in closed session were all Councilmembers; Steven Kueny, City Manager; and John Nowak, Assistant City Manager. Minutes of the City Council Moorpark, California Page 2 January 28, 1998 The Council reconvened into open session at 7 :12 p.m. Mayor Hunter stated that during discussion of Item 4.D. in closed session, it was apparent that further negotiations were needed and that he wanted to appoint a City Council ad hoc committee to participate in the negotiations regarding the Police Resource Center. MOTION: Mayor Hunter moved and Councilmember Evans seconded a motion to appoint Mayor Hunter and Councilmember Wozniak to serve on the Police Resource Center Ad Hoc Committee. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 5. ADJOURNMENT: MOTION: Councilmember Wozniak moved and Councilmember Perez seconded a motion to adjour�., The motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
