HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1998 0902 CC SPCMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California September 2, 1998 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held on September 2, 1998, in the Community Center Conference Room of said City located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Hunter called the meeting to order at 6 :40 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Evans, Perez, Teasley, Wozniak, and Mayor Hunter. Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; John Nowak, Assistant City Manager; Cheryl Kane, City Attorney; and Don Reynolds, Administrative Services Manager 3. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 4. CLOSED SESSION: Mr. Kueny announced that Items A., E., F., and G. needed to be discussed. The City Attorney announced that the facts and circumstances creating significant exposure to litigation for one item under Item 4.A. consist of a claim received from Wendy J. Littge. MOTION: Councilmember Wozniak moved and Councilmember Teasley seconded a motion to adjourn to closed session for a discussion of Items A., E., F., and G. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote. CONFERENCE WITH REAL PROPERTY NEGOTIATOR Property: Northeast corner of New Los Angeles Avenue and Flory Avenue, Moorpark, CA 93021 Negotiating Parties: The City of Moorpark and Moorpark Unified School District. Under Negotiation: Price and Terms of payment E. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION (Subdivision (a) of Section 54956.9) City of Moorpark vs. Theresa L. Dillon F. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION (Subdivision (a) of Section 54956.9)City of Moorpark vs. Villa Del Arroyo, LTD., a limited partnership G. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION (Subdivision (a) of Section 54956.9) Libertarian Party of Ventura et a1. vs. Richard Dean as Registrar of Voters of Ventura County et a1. Present in closed session were all Councilmembers; Steven Kueny, City Manager; John Nowak, Assistant City Manager; Cheryl Kane, City Attorney; and Don Reynolds, Administrative Services Manager. Mr. Reynolds left the meeting at 6:45 p.m. The Council reconvened into open session at 7 :07 p.m. The City Manager reported that for one Item under 4.A., by a unanimous vote of councilmembers, the City Council approved the claim of Wendy J. Littge against the City of Moorpark for property damage in the amount not to exceed $1,200 dollars. The City Manager announced that there was no action to report on Items 4.E., 4.F., and 4.G. Minutes of the City Council Moorpark, California Page 3 5. ADJOURNMENT: September 2, 1998 MOTION: Councilmember Wozniak moved and Councilmember Perez seconded a motion to adjourn.
