HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1989 0410 CC ADJMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California April 10, 1989 An Adjourned Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark, California was held on April 10, 1989 in the Council Chambers of City Hall of said City, located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at the hour of 7:07 P.M. by Mayor Brown. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: It was agreed to dispense with the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Paul Lawrason, Bernardo Perez, Mayor Eloise Brown. Steven Kueny, City Manager; and Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager /City Clerk. Absent: Councilmembers Clint Harper and Scott Montgomery. 4. PROCLAMATIONS, COMMENDATIONS,__AND SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS: None were presented. 5. REORDERING OF, AND ADDITIONS_TO, THE AGENDA: None were presented. 6. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None were presented. 7. COMMITTEE REPORTS: None were presented. 8. CONSENT CALENDAR: None were presented. Minutes of the City Council Moorpark, California 9. PUBLIC HEARINGS: None were presented. 10. COMMENTS FROM COUNCILMEMBERS: None were presented. 11. DISCUSSION /ACTION ITEMS: April 10, 1989 11.A. Consider Cable Franchise Technical Consultant Proposals. Mayor Brown asked the City Council if there were any questions of the staff with regard to the report or item. Councilmember Lawrason asked how many proposals were received. Mayor Brown responded that this firm (the recommended firm) was one of three firms asked to submit proposals and that our Deputy City Attorney has experience working with this firm. Steven Kueny, City Manager responded that we were first contacted several months ago by the third firm, Kinley Simpson, which did not respond to our request for proposals. Councilmember Lawrason asked if the technical consultant would assist in the technical specifications for the governmental channel. Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager /City Clerk responded that item eight in the scope of work includes this service. MOTION: Councilmember Lawrason moved and Councilmember Perez seconded a motion to enter into the agreement for services with Telecommunications Management Corporation not to exceed $6,800 and authorized the City Manager to sign on behalf of the City. Motion carried unanimously on Roll Call Vote. (Councilmembers Harper and Montgomery absent) 12. ORDINANCES: There were none. 13. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Councilmember Lawrason asked that the proposed July 3, 1989 Community Fireworks Show be placed on the April 19, 1989 agenda. 14. CLOSED SESSION: Councilmember Perez moved and Councilmember Lawrason seconded the motion to go into Closed Session to discuss Personnel. Motion carried unanimously with a voice vote. The time of adjournment to closed session was 7:22 P.M. Councilmembers Lawrason, Perez, Mayor Brown; and Steven Kueny, City Manager were present in the Closed Session. Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager /City Clerk left the meeting at 7:22 P.M. The Council reconvened into open session at the hour of 9:18 P.M. ADJOURNMENT: MOTION: Councilmember Perez moved and Councilmember Lawrason seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting at the hour of 9:18 P.M. The voice vote was unanimous. Eloise Brown, Mayor ATTEST:
