HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1989 1018 CC SPCMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California _ _ _ October 18, 1989 The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark, California was held on October 18, 1989, in the Council Chambers of City Hall of said City, located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Mayor Eloise Brown. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Harper., Lawrason, Montgomery, Perez and Mayor Brown Steven Kueny, City Manager; Brian Pierik, Acting City Attorney; Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; and Pat Richards, Community Development Director. 3. CLOSED SESSION: MOTION: Councilmember Harper moved and Councilmember Lawrason seconded a motion to go into Closed Session at the hour of 6:35 p.m. for the purpose of discussing all items listed on the Special Meeting Notice. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. Present in Closed Session were all Councilmembers; Steven Kueny, City Manager; Brian Pierik, Acting City Attorney; Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; and Pat Richards, Community Development Director. The full Council reconvened .i.nto> open session after a recess from 7:03 p.m. to 7:14 p.m. Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Brian Pierik, Acting City Attorney; Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; .John Knipe, Assistant City Engineer; Lieutenant Richard Rodriguez, Sheriff's Department; Pat Richards, Director of Community Development; Susan Cauldwell, Adminstr.ative. Assi.strnat; Phil Newhouse, Director of Commuri.ity Service; and Lillian Kellerman, City Clerk Brian Pierik, Acting City Attorney, stated that only Items 143, 14.H. and 14.J were discussed during the Closed Session. Steven Kueny, City Manager, announced that in the Closed Session, the Council authorized the City Attorney to file an appeal on the denial of the City's Motion to Ouash iri Ventura County Community College District's challenge of t.hc, Redevelopment Plan. Consider status report of loan to _Redevelopment Agency and Additional Loan. Staff Recommendation: Authorize additional $70,000 loan from the City to the Redevelopment Agency. Mr. Kueny indicated that this item appearing as ll.H. needed to be acted upon before the Redevelopment Agency could consider accepting the loan. MOTION: Councilmember Perez moved and Councilmember Harper seconded a motion to approve the staff recommendation. The motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. 5. ADJOURNMENT: MOTION: Councilmember Perez moved and Councilmember Montgomery seconded a motion to adjourn the Special Meeting. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
