HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 2008 1210 CC SPCMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California December 10, 2008 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held on December 10, 2008, in the Community Center of said City located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Parvin called the meeting to order at 6:12 p.m. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Moorpark resident, Will Whitaker, led the pledge of allegiance. 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Mikos, Millhouse, Van Dam, and Mayor Parvin. Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Hugh Riley, Assistant City Manager; Barry Hogan, Deputy City Manager; Mary Lindley, Parks /Recreation and Community Services Director; Captain Ron Nelson, Sheriff's Department; Deborah Traffenstedt, Administrative Services Director /City Clerk; and Maureen Benson, Assistant City Clerk. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 5. REORDERING OF, AND ADDITIONS TO, THE AGENDA: None. 6. PRESENTATION /ACTION /DISCUSSION: A. Consider Interim City Councilmember Candidate Interviews. Staff Recommendation: 1) Conduct interviews; and 2) Continue interim City Councilmember appointment decision to December 17, 2008, following other appointment related agenda items scheduled for that meeting. Ms. Traffenstedt gave the staff report. Mayor Parvin called the candidates in the order their names were drawn by the City Clerk prior to the start of the meeting. Minutes of the City Council Moorpark, California Page 2 December 10, 2008 The Council listened to presentations and conducted interviews of the following interim City Councilmember candidates in the following order: Jonathon Miller Robert Peskay Ryan Krebs Terri Hilliard Olson Nathan Sweet (Dale) Glenn Rowe Mark Richards James Bolting Lisa Leal Thomas Pflaumer Gary Lowenberg Patrick Ellis Mark Taillon Jorgen Nielsen David Bagwell James Hoffman, III Clint Harper CONSENSUS: It was the consensus of the Council to continue interim City Councilmember appointment decision to December 17, 2008, following other appointment related agenda items scheduled for that meeting. 7. CLOSED SESSION: None was held. 8. ADJOURNMENT: MOTION: Councilmember Millhouse moved and Councilmember Mikos seconded a motion to adjourn. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
