HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES CC 1983 60 1983 1221RESOLUTION NO. 83 -60 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A REVISED FEE SCHEDULE FOR BUILDING PERMITS AND SERVICES RENDERED PURSUANT TO THE MOORPARK CITY BUILDING CODE. WHEREAS, state law and the Moorpark City Building Code require the performance of certain plan check, inspection and other services by the County Division of Building and Safety for the purpose of safeguarding the public health, safety and welfare; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Moorpark deems it appropriate for the cost of such services to be borne by the users and beneficiaries of same; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the attached fee schedule for permits and services is hereby adopted and shall be in full force and effect on and after December 22, 1983. SECTION 2. That Resolution No. 83 -36, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK ESTABLISHING FEES FOR THE PERMITS AND SERFICES RENDERED PURSUANT TO THE MOORPARK CITY BUILDING CODE" adopted by said City Council on September 21, 198 is hereby rescinded. SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. ATTEST: (Sl APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of December, 1983. 4, 0" VENTURA COUNTY BUILDING CODE FEE SCHEDULE Fees for permits and services rendered pursuant to the Ventura County Building Code (VCBC) shall be paid to the Division of Building and Safety as set forth in the following tables and schedules. A. PERMIT ISSUANCE FEE B. 1. Single Permit. For the issuance of each building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, grading, or special permit $10.00 2. Combination Permit. For the issuance of a combination permit wherein building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work or any combination thereof is included on a single permit form $10.00 3. Minimum Permit Fee. For any permit, the total of the issuance fee plus itemized charges shall be not less than $20.00 BUILDING PERMIT FEES 1. Issuance Fee (when applicable) See Item "A" above. 2. Refer to the Ventura County Building Code, Sections UBC 304(a) and (b) for general information pertaining to Table UBC 3 -A below. Fees determined by use of the table shall be rounded to the nearest dollar. Total Valuation $1.00 to $500.00 $501.00 to $2,000.00 $2,001.00 to $25,000.00 $25,001.00 to $50,000.00 $50,001.00 to $100,000.00 $100,001.00 and up TABLE UBC 3 -A Fee $10.00 $10.00 for the first $500.00 plus $1.50 for each additional $100.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $2,000.00. $32.50 for the first $2,000.00 plus $6.00 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $25,000.00. $170.50 for the first $25,000.00 plus $4.50 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $50,000.00. $283.00 for the first $50,000.00 plus $3.00 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $100,000.00. $433.00 for the first $100,000.00 plus $2.50 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof. 1 Attachment A 3. Building Plan Review Fees. When a plan or other data is required to be submitted for checking, the plan review fee for each building or structure shall be 65% of the building permit fee as shown in Table UBC 3 -A except as otherwise specified by Section UBC 304(b) in the VCBC. 4. Energy Conservation Standards Fee. In addition to other fees specified herein, the fee for plan review and inspection of energy conservation systems in buildings subject to State energy conservation standards shall be as follows. Mobilehome or Commercial Coach Installation (Set -Up) Fee. $35.00 NOTE: The minimum set -up fee for a mobilehome and /or commercial coach shall be as shown above except that in no case shall such fee be less than the current rate specified by the California Administrative Code, Title 25, Chapter 2, Subchapter 1, Article 1. D. FEES FOR SERVICES No permit issuance fee is applicable to the charges for services listed within this Section D. 1. Appeals hearing. For each application for a hearing before an appeals board established pursuant to provisions of the Ventura County Building Code. $75.00 2. Cancellation. For processing a refund of fees pursuant to Sec. 2 -9(c) of the VCBC $10.00 3. Code compliance, investigation, or change of occupancy. For the performance of inspections of existing buildings or structures and the preparation of necessary reports. $35.00 4. Copy service. Moved building: Application and investigation. Issuance Fee (when applicable) $10.00 See Item "A" above. 2. Temporary Electrical Service. Temporary power pole or pedestal and related equipment. $10.00 Temporary power distribution system for a construction site. Up to and including 200 amp. $10.00 Over 200 amp: $10.00 plus $1.25 for each additional 100 amp or fraction thereof in excess of 200. For inspection prior to energizing an electrical service to test equipment pending completion of a structure. $25.00 3. Electrical Service, 0 -600 volts. Up to and including 400 amperes. $15.00 Over 400 amperes: $15.00 plus $1.25 for each additional 100 amperes or fraction thereof in excess of 400 4. Electrical Service or Substation over 600 volts. Up to and including 1000 amp. $25.00 Over 1000 amp: $25.00 plus $20.00 per 1000 amp or fraction thereof in excess of 1000. 5. Electrical Service Restoration. For inspection prior to reactivation of an electrical service $20.00 3 6. System Fee Schedule. The following rates shall apply to new construction and additions. Fees include wiring, fixtures, and equipment associated with a single phase system of general lighting, receptacles, and power apparatus rated less than one horsepower, when installed in or upon the occupancies listed herein. A plan review fee equal to 50% of the electrical permit fee shall be applicable to A, E, I, H; B, R, and M occupancies as defined in the Uniform Building Code. EXCEPTIONS: (a) Group R and Group M occupancies with an electrical service not over 200 amperes in size. (b) Work in any occupancy when electrical plans are not required to be submitted. 5 F. PLUMBING PERMIT FEES 1. Issuance fee (when applicable). $10.00 See Item "A" above. 2. System Fee Schedule. Use the Unit Fee Schedule in item 3 below to determine additional charges for plumbing work not included in this schedule. Residential plumbing. For installation of plumbing fixtures and water, drain, waste, vent, and gas piping systems serving a single family dwelling or individual unit of a multi- family structure when such dwelling unit does not exceed 3000 square feet in area and contains not more than three bathrooms $40.00 Swimming pool and spa plumbing. Gas, water, and drainage piping. $15.00 Gas -fired pool heater and vent. $ 6.00 Solar water heating system, including collectors, piping, tanks, and valves. Domestic (potable) water heating. $25.00 Swimming pool /spa heating. $25.00 3. Unit Fee Schedule. Unit fees are applicable to all plumbing work not covered by the System Fee Schedule in item 2 above. For installation of heating equipment, flues, ducts, vent fans, and related elements of a system designed to heat and /or ventilate a single - family dwelling or an individual unit of a multi- family dwelling. Per sq. ft. of conditioned space $ .015 3. Unit Fee Schedule. Unit fees are applicable to individual items of mechanical equipment when not installed as part of a system listed in item 2 above.
