HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES CC 1992 835 1992 0219RESOLUTION NO. 92 - 835 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR BICYCLE AND /OR PEDESTRIAN FUNDS UNDER SB 821 WHEREAS, SB 821 provides for the annual set aside of 2% of each county's total Local Transportation Fund to be used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and, WHEREAS, the streets in the vicinity of Flory Elementary School have many areas where there are no sidewalks, a condition which does not adequately provide for the safety of school -aged pedestrians in route to and from school, and; WHEREAS, the City of Moorpark wishes to provide for the constructiont sidewalks in this area to remedy this condition, and; o{ WHEREAS, the City desires to fund all or a portion of such improvements with SB 821 funds. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to submit application for SB 821 funding of fifty per cent (50 %) of the cost for the construction of sidewalks on certain streets in the vicinity of Flory Elementary School. SECTION 2. That the City Manager shall be designated as the contact person for said grant application and is hereby authorized to sign all documents related thereto. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of February, 1992.
