HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES CC 1992 889 1992 1021Resolution No. 92 -889 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, PERTAINING TO THE PRESERVATION OF THE INTEGRITY OF SINGLE - FAMILY NEIGHBORHOODS THROUGH RESPONSIBLE REAL - ESTATE MARKETING WHEREAS, the City has zoned property for single - family residential development, and existing neighborhoods have been developed consistent within the regulations of such single - family zone districts; and WHEREAS, on- and off - street parking violations, illegal conversion of garages and accessory structures into dwelling areas, and increased noise disturbances are associated with overcrowding conditions; and WHEREAS, such overcrowding conditions have resulted in an overall decline in appearance, pride of ownership, and associated decline in property values; and WHEREAS, overcrowded single - family dwelling units have become de facto multi - family dwellings; and WHEREAS, it is the City's duty to maintain the integrity of all of its neighborhoods, housing stock, and zoning regulations; and WHEREAS, real estate agents and brokers have a similar interest in protecting property values; and WHEREAS, real estate agents and brokers help to promote the intent and characteristics of single - family dwelling units including, but not limited to, maintenance of landscaping, physical appearance, zoning consistency, and compatibility with the neighborhood; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Real estate agents and brokers consider the negative impact on single - family neighborhoods, when single - family homes are marketed for multi - family use; Request real estate agents and brokers to refrain from marketing multi - family use of single - family dwellings; and Resolution No. 92 -889 Page 2 Encourage real estate agents and brokers to provide all purchasers of property in Moorpark, pertinent information regarding allowable zoning and land use constraints. 1992.
