HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES CC 1993 962 1993 0818RESOLUTION NO. 93 - _ 962 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 88-507 AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO- 86-332 PERTAINING TO THE DESIGNATION OF STOP INTERSECTIONS IN PC-3. WHEREAS, Section 21351 of the California Vehicle Code authorizes the City to place and maintain, or cause to be placed and maintained, such appropriate signs, signals or other traffic control devices as may be necessary to properly indicate and carry out the provisions of the Vehicle Code or local traffic ordinances or to warn or guide traffic; and, WHEREAS, Section 21354 of the California Vehicle Code authorizes the city to designate any intersection under its jurisdiction a stop intersection and erect STOP signs at one or more entrances thereto; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to said authority the City Council adopted certain Resolutions designating certain intersections to be STOP intersections and directing the installation of STOP signs at certain entrances to same; and, WHEREAS, the city Council has determined that, in order to better provide for the public health and safety, it is necessary and appropriate to make certain changes to said designations. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 86-332, pertaining to the installation of STOP signs at the intersection of Tierra Rejada Road and Mountain Trail Street and the intersection of Mountain Meadow Drive and Walnut Creek Road, is hereby repealed, said action to become effective upon the operation of traffic signals installed or to be installed at said locations. SECTION 2. That Section 1 of Resolution No. 88-507 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom LOCATION #8 (Tierra Rejada Road and Countrywood Drive) and LOCATION #12 (Tierra Rejada Road and the Commercial Center Entry [Brookwood]), said action to become effective upon the operation of traffic signals to be installed at said locations. That Section 1 of Resolution No. 88 -507 is further amended by adding thereto the following locations as identified on Exhibit 'A' attached hereto and made a part hereof: Sign Location No. Stop Street Facina Cross Street 19 Pinedale Road East Timberda:le Road Section 4. That the City Manager is hereby directed to provide for the installation and maintenance of appropriate signs and markings to effectuate these designations.
