HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES CC 1997 1344 1997 0702RESOLUTION 97- 1344 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE JOB CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND SALARY PLAN BY INCORPORATING FOUR POSITIONS APPROVED WITH THE FISCAL YEAR 1997/1998 BUDGET AND THE POSITION OF PRINCIPAL PLANNER WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 96 -1213 and Resolution 97 -1272, establishing the Salary Plan and Classification Plan for Competitive Service, Non - Competitive Service and Hourly Employees, respectively; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 97 -1319, amending the Salary Plan for Non - Competitive Service employees; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the fiscal year 1997/1998 budget on June 18, 1997 which included new positions including the position of Planning Manager; and WHEREAS, the addition of the Planning Manager position provides the opportunity to restructure the professional staff in the Community Development Department by moving the Senior Planner - Competitive Service positions to Principal Planner - Non - Competitive Service positions; and NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The job description for the position of Crossing Guard Supervisor as a Competitive Service employee is included in the Classification Plan. Section 2. The job descriptions for the positions of Planning Manager, Principal Planner, Recreation Superintendent, and Finance /Accounting Manager are included in the Classification Plan as a Non - Competitive Service employees. Section 3. The current two Senior Planner positions are vacated and the incumbents are reclassified to Principal Planners and the current Finance Officer position is vacated and the incumbent is reclassified to Finance Officer /Accounting Manager. Section 5. The salary ranges for the following positions are established: Title Crossing/Guard Supervisor Planning Manager Principal Planner Recreation Superintendent Finance Officer /Accounting Manager Range Bi- Weekly 5 $ 948.63 - $1,155.82 69 $2,178.57- $2,654.37 65 $1,973.67- $2,404.73 65 $1,973.67- $2,404.73 69 $2,178.57- $2,654.37 Service Competitive Non - Competitive Non - Competitive Non- Competitive Non - Competitive W02,49 Section 6. These reclassifications and alterations to the Classification Plan and the Salary Plan shall take effect the first full pay period in July, 1997.
