Home My WebLink AboutRES CC 1998 1530 1998 1021RESOLUTION NO. 98 - 1530 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 90 -634 BY ESTABLISHING A "NO PARKING -- CITY PERMITS EXEMPT" ZONE UPON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE VICINITY OF MOORPARK COLLEGE [MILNE COURT, TROLLOPE COURT AND A PORTION OF UNIVERSITY DRIVE] WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) authorizes the City to restrict and /or prohibit parking, between certain hours and /or days, upon portions of designated streets, to all vehicles except those vehicles displaying a permit exempting said vehicles from the provisions of the parking restriction and /or prohibition; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to said provisions, the City Council adopted Resolution 90 -634 designated certain streets in the vicinity of Moorpark College as being within a "PARKING IN EXCESS OF ONE HOUR BY PERMIT ONLY" zone; and, WHEREAS, said resolution also provided that: • said one hour parking restriction shall be in effect between the hours of 8 :00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; • said parking restriction shall not apply to vehicles displaying a permit issued by the City; • such permits shall only be issued to the owner or resident of a property fronting the "Permit Only" parking zone; and, • signs shall be installed and maintained giving notice of said parking restrictions; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is necessary to revise those parking restrictions by designating some of the streets listed in Resolution No. 90 -634 to be in a "No Parking -- City Permit Exempt" zone. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 1 of Resolution No. 90 -634 is hereby deleted and a new Section 1 is hereby adopted to read as follows: "Section 1. A. That "NO PARKING -- hereby established on Exhibit W, attached listed as follows: 1. Trollope Court; 2. Milne Court; 3. University Drive Drive; and, 4. University Drive Drive. CITY PERMITS EXEMPT" zones are the street segments identified on hereto and made a part hereof, and between Borges Court and Collins between Swift Place and Collins Resolution No. 98 -1530 Page 2 B. That "PARKING IN EXCESS OF ONE HOUR BY PERMIT ONLY" zones are hereby established on the street segments identified on Exhibit W. attached hereto and made a part hereof, and listed as follows: 1. Borges Court; 2. Freshman Court; 3. Sophomore Court; 4. Griffin Lane; 5. Graduate Place; 6. Swift Place; and, 7. those segments of University Drive not included in Section 1 A herein, or not subject to the revisions referred to in Section 3 herein." SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall become effective upon the replacement of the parking restriction signs on the streets listed in Section 1 A herein, implementing the above stated revised parking restrictions on those streets. SECTION 3. That all of the provisions of Resolution No. 90- 634 shall remain in full force and effect, except the provisions of Section 1, which are superseded herein. SECTION 4. That the provisions of Resolution No. 90 -706, which deleted the "Permit Only" parking restrictions along that portion of University Drive fronting the community recreation center, shall remain in full force and effect.
