HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES CC 2000 1708 2000 0301RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -1708 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN A MULTI - AGENCY TRAFFIC SAFETY /ENFORCEMENT GRANT WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol has received a continuation of grant funds for a multi- agency SR 118 Safety Task Force; and WHEREAS, State Route 118, portion of which is within the corporate boundaries of the City of Moorpark, has been identified as the corridor for which a Safety Action Plan is to be developed; and WHEREAS, the grant allows funds for law enforcement; and WHEREAS, increasing law enforcement is an important element in approving traffic safety on the corridor. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City of Moorpark is herewith authorized to participate in the continuation of the multi- agency Traffic Safety /Enforcement Grant through the California Highway Patrol. SECTION 2. That the City Manager is authorized to sign any necessary documentation including participation contracts to effectuate this grant and to designate the grant administrator. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified resolution to be filed in the book of original resolutions. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of March 2000.
