HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES CC 2004 2204 2004 0609RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -2204 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING FRIDAY, JUNE 11, 2004, A CITY HOLIDAY IN HONOR OF FORMER PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN WHEREAS, President George W. Bush has declared Friday, June 11, 2004, as a Federal Holiday in honor of former President Ronald Reagan and all Federal agencies will be closed; and WHEREAS, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has proclaimed Friday, June 11, 2004, as a Day of Remembrance of former Governor and former President Ronald Reagan and all State agencies and offices will be closed; and WHEREAS, the public offices of the City shall be closed on every day appointed by the President of the United States or Governor of this State for public feast, Thanksgiving or holiday, when specifically authorized by the City Council as stated in City Council Resolution No. 2003 -2156; and WHEREAS, for consistency with Section 2.52.010 of Chapter 2.52 of Title 2 of the Moorpark Municipal Code, which provides that holidays observed by the City shall be set by resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council at a Special Meeting on June 9, 2004, declared Friday, June 11, 2004, as a City holiday in honor of former President Ronald Reagan and that a resolution be adopted. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Excluding those offices, which must remain for the continuation of essential public police services, the public offices of the on Friday, June 11, 2004.
