HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1984 0724 PC REGf- Planning Commission, City of Moorpark, California Minutes of July 24, 1984 The regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Moorpark, California was held on July 24, 1984 in the Council Chambers of City Hall of said City, located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Hartley. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairman Hartley. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES CC /PC Joint Meeting April 25, 1984 Planning Commission Meeting June 26, 1984 Motion: Commissioner Miller moved and Commissioner Weak seconded a motion to approve the minutes of a Joint City Council and Planning Commission meeting of April 25, 1984 and a Planning Commission meeting of June 26, 1984 as submitted. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS Mr. Mitze spoke regarding PD -999 roofing materials. 5. COMMISSION COMMENTS Commissioner weak informed staff and the Commission that the Sign ordinance was near completion and could be provided for the Commission's next agenda. Motion: Commissioner Miller moved and Commissioner Schleve seconded a motion that items not included in the packet be removed from the agenda. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 6. PD -922 Newhart Continued from June 26, 1984 and July 10, 1984. Request to construct a 3,008 sq.ft. building to be used for the retail sale of automobile tires. r- Planning Commission Minutes of July 24, 1984 Page 2 Staff and the Commission reviewed the elevations, and inquired whether fencing would be wood or metal? Hours of operation also a concern. The Commission had the following concerns: Whether a tire store is wanted on High Street. That a wall shall be provided on the west side of the project adjacent to the residential property. Motion: Commissioner Miller motion to deny the project. Motion dies for lack of a second. Motion: Commissioner Weak moved and Commissioner Miller second a motion to approve PD -922 with the following modifications. Hours of operation: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Motion passed on a 3:1 vote. 7. CUP -4220 N.E. Baher Continued from July 10, 1984. Request to allow two single family dwellings to be constructed and used for farm labor housing on two lots totaling 68 acres. Located adjacent and west of Gabbert Road and one half mile northwest of Los Angeles Avenue. Motion: Commissioner Miller moved and Commissioner Weak seconded a motion to continue this item to the next Planning Commission meeting. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 8. Appeal No. 1 West America Construction Corporation Appeal of decision to require screening of roof mounted equipment for DP -288 - BMX. At the close of the applicants slide presentation and m24jul.84 Planning Commission Minutes of July 24, 1984 Page 3 discussion the Commission took the following action. Motion: Commissioner Miller moved and Commissioner Weak seconded a motion to deny Appeal No. 1 on the application of West America Construction Corporation. The motion carried by a 3:1 vote. 9. Staff Comments The Commission by general consensus to meet on August 21st. 10.
