The Special Meeting of the Moorpark Recreation and Parks Commission
was called to order at 7:24 p.m. in the Moorpark Community Center.
In attendance were Commissioners Barrera, Rasey and Roe. Also in
attendance were Councilmember Al Prieto and City Manager /Director of
Community Development, Niall Fritz.
Item 1. Job Description for Community Center Maintenance /Custodial
worker.
Weekend Custodian Job Description
The duties of the custodian were discussed and changes made to meet our
requirements.
This position involves the opening and closing of the Center for weekend
users. It involves the set -up and clean -up of the Center.
The ability to speak Spanish was added as a desirable quality.
Money to pay for this position will be taken from the users cleaning and
security deposit fee which will now be increased to $200 minimum. Salary
range $4 - $6 per hour, variable hours.
Maintenance Worker I
The job description was reviewed and changed to meet our requirements.
This position will be funded through the General Fund, Quimby Interest Fund
and User Fees.
The purchase of tools and equipment are necessary now.
This custodian will be a City employee hired on a part -time basis, 20 hours
a week minimum on a variable basis dependent on work necessary. Regular
maintenance may only require four hours a day whereas waxing and stripping
floors may require six to eight hours straight. Medical benefits will be
offered.
It is the intent of the Commission to attract a responsible employee who
may in the near future work into a full -time position if the need arises.
This employee will be responsible for cleaning City offices.
Lands cape /Maintenance
The schools can provide this maintenance for $25,000, but this doesn't
look promising at this point. Mr. Magill doesn't appear to be interested
Niall will request proposals from contractual maintenance companies using
the County Maintenance guidelines. The mowing and litter requirements will
be changed on these guidelines
The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 p.m.
