CITY OF MOORPARK
AGENDA REPORT 13Y: 1 — /9
TO: The Honorable City Council
FROM: Kenneth C. Gilbert, Director of Public Works
DATE: May 21, 1999 (Council Meeting 6-2-99)
SUBJECT: Consider Resolution No. 99- Approving Program
Supplement No. M003 to City / State Agreement No. 07-
5436 Related to the 1999 Asphalt Overlay Project
Background
As a separate matter, on June 2, 1999, the City Council will
consider the award of a contract for the construction of the 1999
Asphalt Overlay Project . This report pertains to a Federal grant
partially funding that project.
Discussion
The arterial streets to be resurfaced by the 1999 Asphalt Overlay
Project are to be partially funded by a Surface Transportation
Program (STP) grant . The STP program is one of the many highway
programs which comprise the Federal TEA-21 (Transportation
Efficiency Act for the Twenty-First Century) program.
The amount of this grant is limited to 88 .5% of the construction
costs, not to exceed $663 , 999 [$750, 281 x 88 . 5% = $663, 999] . In
that the total price for eligible items of the contract will
exceed $750, 281, the City will receive the full amount of the
grant .
The procedures pertaining to the administration of these funds
require the City and Caltrans to execute the attached Program
Supplement Agreement . Caltrans also requires that the City Council
adopt a resolution (also attached) authorizing execution of this
Supplement Agreement .
