KANE City Attorney NIALL FRITZ Director of Community Development R. DENNIS DELZEIT City Engineer JOHN V. GILLESPIE Chief of Police Additional Appropriation for Senior Citizens Center Plans On April 1, 1985, the City Council approved a proposal with the Architectural firm, DIaL, for preparation of a site plan for the proposed Senior Citizen facility. The site plan included building locations parking, utilities and grading for the building suggested by the Senior Citizens Center Ad Hoc Committee. This is the Building used as the basis for the City's grant application under the Senior Bond Act program. The cost for the proposal was $2,000. As part of the grant, it was necessary to prepare Kitchen estimates and other cost estimates for submission as part of the application. It was also necessary that additional detail on the site plans, beyond the original scope of the work, be provided to meet the grant requirements. In order to meet the deadline for submission and to have professional assistance in preparing the needed cost estimates, DIaL was required to provide this extra work. In our haste to meet the deadline, staff failed to request an additional authorization for the extra work. This work amounted to $720. It is recommended that the City Council authorize the funds for the extra work. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize appropriation of $720 from the General Fund Reserve to account No. 01 -117 -602 for the extra work on the Senior Citizens Center design related to the Senior Bond Act Grant application.
