Staff has discussed the matter with two (2) different prospective buyers of the
Moorpark Villa Apartments. The current owner of the complex is apparently content
to require any buyer to remedy the situation concerning the conversion of the
rents from the FHA program. Staff has not been able to make any progress with
the owner or management company but is still trying.
The current urgency ordinance is scheduled to expire May 17, 1985. The matter
will be placed on the May 6 Agenda for further consideration by the Council
regarding A) further extension of the moratorium, B) formal rent control
mechanism, or C) no further action on the matter.
