At the August 4, 1986 meeting, the Council authorized the
redesign of Tierra Rejada Road to include raised median
improvements, and directed the City Engineer to continue
negotiations with the developers regarding reimbursement of
the associated additional costs. The redesign and
negotiations with Pacifica have been completed, and it has
been determined that Pacifica will be entitled to a
reimbursement of approximately $28,000. This amount may
vary slightly, depending on the quantities of materials
actually used during construction.
Pacifica has awarded a contract for the subject
improvements, and has begun construction in accordance with
its previously approved plans. Because the unit prices bid
by the contractor will be held constant only through the end
of August, it is in the interest of both the City and
Pacifica to complete the improvements immediately. It is
therefore recommended that the Council authorize Pacifica to
complete the improvements subject to the reimbursement
amount negotiated by Pacifica and .the City Engineer, with a
formal reimbursement agreement to follow.
