In April 1986, the City of Moorpark received approval for the Senior
Center Bond Act Grant. As the City Council is aware the City of Moorpark
had requested $390,984 for the construction of a 2924 square foot Senior
Center. Although the City did not receive the full grant amount requested,
the City did receive a grant amount of $150,000. This amount will be
utilized for the construction of a scaled -down version of the original
grant proposal.
Attached is a copy of the Agreement for the Senior Center Bond Act Grant.
City staff has communicated with Kenneth L. Swinford, Manager of the Senior
Center Bond Act Program, to inform the State of the City's desire to pursue
the project on a scaled -down version. With the approval of the State and
transmittal of the Agreement, the Agreement is now submitted to the City
Council for approval and authorization to have the Mayor sign the agree-
ment on behalf of the City Council.
Recommendation:
1) Approval of the Senior Center Bond Act Agreement.
2) Authorization of the Mayor to execute the
