PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the United Way of Ventura County is a vital community
resource, which is specifically organized by the people for the betterment of
the people; and
WHEREAS, 3,204 Moorpark residents received services from the 66
agencies supported by the United Way of Ventura County, such as the Boys and
Girls Club of Moorpark; and
WHEREAS, 419,144 Ventura County residents received services from one or
more of the 66 agencies supported by the United Way of Ventura County; and
WHEREAS, United Way of Ventura County supports 66 counseling services,
emergency services, multi- services, youth services, health services, and senior
services agencies and agencies serving the disabled in Ventura County; and
WHEREAS, United Way brings more than 3,500 volunteers from all walks of
life to donate their time and talents in support of United Way's efforts; and,
WHEREAS, the United Way of Ventura County information drive for
financial support in the City of Moorpark is now beginning;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, does hereby
proclaim the week of Thursday, November 5 through Wednesday, November 11, 1987
as UNITED WAY OF VENTURA COUNTY WEEK in the City of Moorpark to call attention
of all residents, businesses, community groups, and civic - minded individuals to
the unique and worthwhile services provided by the United Way of Ventura County
and its many volunteers.
