FROM: Patrick J. Richards, Director of Community Development
DATE: August 11, 1987
SUBJECT: PD -1050 CLARE SHORT STATUS REPORT
On June 24, 1987, the developer removed four existing pepper trees along Spring
Street (Moorpark Road) just north of High Street. The developer was advised
to stop work and notified of the City's urgency tree ordinance. The developer
complied with the City's request. Since June 24th the developer has met twice
with the City's Public Works Committee regarding resolution of replacement.
The last meeting (July 10th) the Public Works Committee considered a replacement
of six (6) 48" boxed pepper trees along Spring Street and High Street. Also,
the developer was to give some consideration for an upgrade to the building
elevation.
The Planning Center, in conjunction with the Downtown Study, reviewed the ele-
vations for proposed project and made several suggestions on some revised ele-
vations. These suggestions were forwarded to the developer for his review.
At this time the developer has requested a meeting with the Public Works Sub-
committee to once again review the tree replacement issue and changes to the
elevations. That meeting has been tentatively set for August 17, 1987.
