Richards, Director of Community Development DATE: September 8, 1987 ITEM g��• SUBJECT: CONTRACT PLANNING SERVICES REGRADING DP -302 AMERICAN PRODUCTS (FORMERLY WOODCREST CARPET) Background STEVEN KUENY City Manager CHERYL J. GENOVESE City Treasurer The Department of Community Development accepted an application from Structural Concepts of California, Inc. on behalf of the American Products /Woodcrest Carpet Mill Building regarding the processing of a proposed 122,000 sq.ft. addition to the existing building. This addition is being proposed for a single user who needs to take occupancy by June 15, 1988. City staff and a representative from Structural Concepts have met and agreed upon a schedule which will accomplish the required processing. However, at the present time Community Development personnel are committed to a variety of other filed projects and other demands. Therefore, there is a need for contractual planning services. Structural Concepts has agreed to pay all costs associated with using a contract planner to facilitate the schedule desire. At this time, the firm of Sanchez Talarico Associates, 359 San Miguel Drive, Newport Beach, California; is available. Sanchez Talarico has been very active in Ventura County; also was case planner to DP -392, a Cabot, Cabot, & Forbes project. Mr. Talarico, a principal in the firm, and an associate will act as case planners for the project. 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, Califomia 93021 (805) 529 -6864 Recommendation September 8, 1987 Page 2 1. Approve the use of Sanchez Talarico Associates as case planner for the w purposed 122,000 sq.ft. addition to the Woodcrest Carpet Mill Building, the applicant to provided all cost associated with this contractor not to exceed $6,500. 2. Require the applicant to deposit $6,500 with the City to cover the cost of the contract with Sanchez Talarico Associates. 3.
