RESOLUTION NO. 86 -275 - GRIFFIN HOMES TRACT 3963
Background
Under Resolution No. 86 -275 Griffin
Homes, the developer of Tract
3963, is
required to complete the construction of Pecan
Avenue and
have it
open to the public no later
than July 1, 1988.
Also, as a
condition of Resolution No. 86 -275
Griffin Homes was
to install a
footpath
from the present terminus
of Pecan Avenue to
the Campus
Canyon
school site.
Discussion
In order that Griffin Homes meet the July 1st deadline construction
of Pecan Avenue will begin no later than the first of June this
year. As noted in the attached letter from the Moorpark Unified
School District there is concern for the safety of school children
walking in close proximity to the road construction work. Also, at
some point in time the existing pathway will be eliminated because
of the roadway construction work. The school district is
requesting that the city give some consideration towards extending
the July 1st deadline for Griffin Homes so as to prevent the need
to eliminate the pathway prior to the completion of the school year.
The school district is suggesting that the time frame be moved from
July 1, 1988 to August 1, 1988. Griffin Homes has agreed to
provide a fence the full length of the pathway so as to separate
the construction work up until the time the pathway needs to be
removed.

Re: Griffin Homes and Completion Deadline for Pecan Avenue
Dear Mr. Kueny:
The purpose of this correspondence is to formally request a delay
from July 1, 1988 until August 1, 1988 of the completion deadline
for Pecan Avenue which was issued to Griffin Homes earlier by
resolution of the Moorpark City Council.
In order to comply with that date, it will be necessary for
Griffin Homes to remove the asphalt pathway which has been placed
for safe access to Campus Canyon School by students. Should it
become necessary to remove that pathway it would create a threat
to student safety, due to heavy equipment on Collins Avenue and
the walking distance for students to get to the School.
It should be noted here that the sole purpose of the completion
of Pecan Avenue at this period in time is for the benefit of the
School District, as Griffin Homes has not yet been granted
building permits in that area.
Your favorable consideration of this request would be greatly
appreciated by the School District.
Sincerely,
Xz V ,
