PROCLAMATION
"UNITED WAY OF VENTURA COUNTY WEEK IN MOORPARK"
OCTOBER 20 THROUGH 26, 1988
WHEREAS, the United Way of Ventura County is a vital community resource,
which is specifically organized by the people for the betterment of the people;
and,
WHEREAS, 7,604 Moorpark residents received services from the 65 agencies
supported by United Way of Ventura County, such as the Moorpark Boys and Girls
Club; and,
WHEREAS, 461,590 Ventura County residents received help from one or more
of the 322 programs and services provided by the 65 agencies supported by the
United Way of Ventura County; and,
WHEREAS, United Way of Ventura County supports 65 counseling services,
emergency services, multi- services, health services, senior services, and youth
services agencies aiding the disabled in Ventura County; and,
WHEREAS, the United Way of Ventura County information drive for financial
support in the City of Moorpark is now beginning;
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Moorpark, does hereby
proclaim the week of Thursday, October 20, 1988 through Wednesday, October 26,
1988 as UNITED WAY OF VENTURA COUNTY WEEK in the City of Moorpark to call to the
attention of all residents, businesses, community groups, and civic - minded
individuals, the unique and worthwhile services provided by the United Way of
Ventura County and its many volunteers.
