NOTICE AND CALL OF A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE ARTS COMMISSION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting of the Arts Commission
of the City of Moorpark is hereby called to be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013,
commencing at 1:30 p.m. Said meeting will convene at Arroyo Vista Community
Park, located at 4550 Tierra Rejada Road, Moorpark, California. Said Special
Meeting shall be for the purpose of the following:

A. Conduct a Second Interview with Artist Anne Mudge and Tour Art
Proiect Site. Staff Recommendation: Tour the art project site, conduct
a second interview with the artist, and discuss ideas for art project
design.
5. CONSENT CALENDAR:
A. Approval of Minutes for Arts Commission Special Meeting of July 29,
2013. Staff Recommendation: Approve as presented.
6. ADJOURNMENT:
All writings and documents provided to the majority of the Commission regarding all agenda
items are available for public inspection at the City Hall public counter located at 799
Moorpark Avenue during regular business hours. The agenda packet for all regular
Commission meetings is also available on the City's website at www.ci.moorpark.ca.us.
Any member of the public may address the Commission during the Public Comments portion
of the Agenda, unless it is a Discussion item. Speakers who wish to address the Commission
concerning a Discussion item must do so during the Discussion portion of the Agenda for
that item. Speaker cards must be received by the Recording Secretary for Public Comment
prior to the beginning of the Public Comments portion of the meeting; and for a Discussion
item, prior to the Chair's call for speaker cards for each Discussion agenda item. A limitation
of three minutes shall be imposed upon each Public Comment and Discussion item speaker.
Written Statement Cards may be submitted in lieu of speaking orally for Discussion items.
Any questions concerning any agenda item may be directed to the Parks, Recreation &
Community Services Department at 517-6227.

MINUTES OF THE ARTS COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING
Moorpark, California July 29, 2013
A Special Meeting of the Arts Commission of the City of Moorpark was held on July 29,
2013, at Moorpark City Hall, located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California.
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Chair Blaugrund called the meeting to order at 5:10 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioners Chrisanne Eastwood, Rose Hoberg, Mary
Schwabauer, and Chair Charles Blaugrund. Commissioner Jean
Amador was absent.
Staff Present: Assistant City Manager Hugh Riley, Management Analyst
Jessica Sandifer, and Administrative Assistant Patty Anderson.
3. REORDERING OF, AND ADDITIONS TO, THE AGENDA:
At this time, Hugh Riley announced the City's upcoming Photo Contest and
inquired if any of the Commissioners would like to volunteer as judges for the
event. Commissioners Eastwood and Schwabauer both volunteered.
4. PRESENTATIONS/ACTION/DISCUSSION:
A. Conduct an Interview with Artist Gordon Huether. Staff
Recommendation: Meet and receive input from Mr. Huether on the
AVRC Art Project.
Gordon Huether gave a brief history of himself and his company. He
then gave a PowerPoint presentation that featured some of his
completed projects.
Mr. Huether answered questions from the Commission and staff.
B. Conduct an Interview with Artist Anne Mudge. Staff Recommendation:
Meet and receive input from Ms. Mudge on the AVRC Art Project.
Anne Mudge gave a PowerPoint presentation, which featured some of
her completed projects, as well as ideas she has had for the project at
AVRC.
Ms. Mudge answered questions from the Commission and discussed
her work with the Commission and staff.

C. Conduct an Interview with Artist Mark Grieve. Staff Recommendation:
Meet and receive input from Mr. Grieve on the AVRC Art Project.
Mark Grieve and Ilan Spector gave a PowerPoint presentation
featuring some of their completed projects.
The Commission discussed ideas with them for the AVRC project.
D. Consider Artists' Presentations. Staff Recommendation: Select an
Artist for recommendation to City Council.
After discussion, the Commission reached a consensus to invite Anne
Mudge back for a second interview, to be held at the project site at
AVRC.
5. CONSENT CALENDAR:
A. Approval of Minutes for Arts Commission Special Meeting of June 11
2013. Staff Recommendation: Approve as presented.
MOTION: Commissioner Eastwood moved and Chair Blaugrund seconded a
motion to approve the Minutes of June 11, 2013, as presented. The motion
was carried by unanimous voice vote.
6. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
