Approval of 08-15-12 minutes
8. ADJOURNMENT:
All writings and documents provided to the Teen Council regarding the agenda items are available for public
inspection at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center public counter located at 4550 Tierra Rejada Road during
regular business hours. The agenda for all regular Teen Council meetings is also available on the City's
website at www.ci.moorpark.ca.us.

TEEN COUNCIL rs_ REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
August 15, 2012 2:00 p.m.
Arroyo Vista Recreation Center, 4550 Tierra Reiada Road
1. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 2:04 p.m. by Trevor Sherman.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge was led by Trevor Sherman.
3. ROLL CALL:
Present: Courtney Beaulieu, Ryan Bermont, Natalie Drizos, Natalie Garcia, Robert
Nguyen, Trevor Sherman, Olivia Sichmeller Jasmine Barakat, Danielle Bautista,
Shawn Fenerin, Olivia Ordin, Madeeha Siddiqui, Vivek Thiyagarajan, Ryan Wicks,
Rebecca Johnson.
Absent: None.
Staff Present: Dylan Gunning.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT:
None.
5. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS:
A. Team Building
Council was broken up into three teams to finish a crossword puzzle
B. Teen Council Volunteer Hours
Discussed the importance of hours and set a goal of 30 hours per person.
Discussed Teen Councils participation in the October 6 Moorpark Country;
5 Teen Council members stated they can attend this this year. Rebecca
Johnson has volunteered to make signs for the truck.
C. REVIEW BROWN ACT FINAL:
Brown Act quiz was handed out to people not here at the last meeting.
D. Sub-Committee Assignments
Dylan presented a subcommittee presentation that was created from the
prior year by Teen Council.
Teen Council broke into subcommittees to elect chairs for each committee.

E. Discuss Marketing Efforts
Places to advertise will include local magazines, websites, newspapers,
library - everyone needs to try to find opportunities for advertising at Teen
Council. Teen Council asked to seek out sponsorships from local
businesses for teen programs. Teen Council discussed the upcoming events
including Game Night on September 8 and The Hang Out on September 26.
Game Night and The Hang Out flyers were passed out to members to
advertise in the community.
F. Teen Programs for Winter 12/13
Teen Council discussed ideas for the Winter teen programs which include
the months December, January, February. Winter Wonderland- concert
(December) - Potential dates- December 21 &28. Movie Marathon—before
Christmas? Winter Arts Festival- January- any art form that is appropriate-
holiday related- paint your own ornament —a Saturday? Potential Dates-
January 12? Mardi Gras Festival- Popeyes & Kettle Corn — Potential Day-
January 9th. Discussed the time frame for having winter event ready by
September 21 . Discussed the second year of the Holiday Movie Marathon at
the High Street Arts Center. Discussed showing the movies "The Santa
Clause", "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation", "Elf', and "Home Alone".
