8. ADJOURNMENT:
All writings and documents provided to the Teen Council regarding the agenda items are available for public
inspection at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center public counter located at 4550 Tierra Rejada Road during
regular business hours. The agenda for all regular Teen Council meetings is also available on the City's
website at www.ci.moorpark.ca.us.

REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

1. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 4:04 p.m. by Trevor Sherman.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge was led by Olivia Ordin.
3. ROLL CALL:
Present: Jasmine Barakat, Courtney Beaulieu, Ryan Bermont, Shawn Fenerin,
Natalie Garcia, Robert Nguyen, Olivia Ordin, Trevor Sherman, Olivia Sichmeller,
Madeeha Siddiqui.
Absent: Danielle Bautista, Rebecca Johnson, Vivek Thiyagarajan, Natalie Drizos,
Ryan Wicks.
Staff Present: Dylan Gunning
4. PUBLIC COMMENT:
Tina Brown from the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority discussed all the programs the
sorority offers to teens to prepare themselves for college and the world. The Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority is working to start offering free workshops for teens in the
future.
5. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS:
A. Teen Council Volunteer Hours
Discussed the upcoming programs need for volunteers and reviewed each
member's completed hours.
B. Teen Events
Discussion of possible events and the positive traits of each suggested
events.
C. Teen Concerns
Discussed the concerns Moorpark teens have with the community.The main
topics were curfew, cyber bullying, healthy living, transportation and
education. Teen Council members will research each of these topics and
present their findings at a later Teen Council meeting.

D. Teen Summit
Council Chair Trevor Sherman presented to Teen Council what other cities
offer in the form of a teen summit. Teen Council discussed ways they would
organize one in Moorpark. Discussion to continue at future meetings.
E. Review Commitment
Teen Council discussed the commitment requirements that all Teen Council
members have and how to improve each person commitment.
F. Spring Ideas
Teen Council discussed the idea of having a battle of the bands, a career
workshop, and a carnival for the spring 2013.

None.
7. CONSENT:
Approved 11-07-12 minutes.
8. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 5:05 p.m. by Trevor Sherman.
