REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
October 16, 2013 4:00 p.m.
Arroyo Vista Recreation Center, 4550 Tierra Reiada Road
1. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 4:02 p.m. by Courtney Beaulieu.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge was led by Shawn Fenerin.
3. ROLL CALL:
Present: Bridget Aamoth, Courtney Beaulieu, Forest Sullenbarger, Gavin Mazur
Shawn Fenerin, Stone Hagman-Lawson, Matiana Gajda, Samantha Gajda, Natalie
Garcia, Megan Gratke, Deema Momani, Olivia Ordin, Laura Traffenstedt, Ryan
Wicks.
Absent: Danielle Bautista.
Staff Present: Dylan Gunning.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT:
None.
5. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS:
A. Teen Council Hours
Dylan Gunning presented the chart of hours that indicated the hours
completed to date of the Teen Council members.
B. Report from Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary
No Report.
C. Report from Promotion Officers
Megan Gratke reported that she promoted the Middle School dance to the
teen youth group at Moorpark Presbyterian Church.
D. Middle School Dance Update
Dylan Gunning stated that the event has booked DJ Mike Beual and one
bounce house from Jolly Jumps Inc.which will be at the dance,Teens will be
able to enjoy a $1 menu where they can purchase food and drink items for
$1 and three glows sticks for $1 .

Social media including Facebook and Twitter are being used to directly
advertise the event to the public along with the Middle School announcing
the events on campus, Flyer distribution has taken place twice at both Mesa
Verde and Chaparral Middle Schools
E. Trick or Treat Village Update
Dylan Gunning stated that Trick or Treat Village volunteers will be required to
work from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on October 31, 2013.
F. Brainstorm Ideas for Teen Programs and Classes
Teen Council discussed ideas including a Bollywood workshop, public
speaking workshop, job and interview workshop, standardized testing
workshop, inspirational speakers, and affordable cooking class.
Megan Gratke motioned to host a pizza making contest. Shawn Fenerin
seconded the motion, The motion passed unanimously by those present.
Danielle Bautista absent.
6. ANNOUNCEMENTS/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS:
None.
7. CONSENT:
The 9/18/13 Minutes were approved.
8. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 5:03 p.m. by Courtney Beaulieu.
