TO: Honorable City Council FROM: Jessica Sandifer, Management Analy DATE: May 6, 2014 (CC Meeting of 05/21/14) 4 SUBJECT: Consider Authorization for Recordation of the Notice of Completion for Demolition of Structures at 236 Charles Street and Release of Bonds in Accordance with the Contract BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION On February 19, 2014 the City Council awarded the demolition contract for 236 Charles Street (APN 512-0-093-030) for $11,973.00 plus a 15% contingency for an overall budget of $13,769.00 to Midwest Environmental Control (MEC). There were no change orders for this project. MEC has satisfactorily completed all work and staff is requesting that the City Council authorize the recordation of the Notice of Completion. With the City Council's authorization to record the Notice of Completion, the City Clerk's office will be authorized to release the project bonds as follows: • Payment Bond No. 1000770545 shall bE recordation of the Notice of Completion • Performance Bond No. 1000770545 shall the recordation of the Notice of Completion FISCAL IMPACT released one (1) year after the be null and void one (1) year after As there were no change orders, the final project cost $11,973.00. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion, and release the project bonds as outlined in the report.
