SUBJECT: Consider Appointment to Fill a Vacancy on the Citizens Transportation
Advisory Committee
The Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC) acts as an advisory board to the
Ventura County Transportation Commission on matters concerning transportation planning
and the annual identification of possible unmet public transit needs. The City has two
representatives and one alternate who serve on this committee.
DISCUSSION
Recruitment to fill a vacancy for an alternate on the Citizens Transportation Advisory
Committee created by the resignation of John Wozniak, ended at 5:00 p.m. on June 2,
2014. Mr. Wozniak's term in office would have expired in December 2014.
One application has been received from Jonathan Donner. The application has been
provided to Council under separate cover.
The Council's adopted procedure for appointments (Policy 2.2 [9.] in Resolution 2014-3294
is as follows:
A. The Mayor shall solicit suggested nominees from members of the Council.
B. Prior to making a motion for appointment, the Mayor shall announce the
names of all persons he/she intends to nominate, and in the order to be
nominated, for a board, commission, or committee.
C. The Mayor shall then make a motion putting forth each individual name to be
approved for appointment.

D. A second shall be required.
E. The Council shall vote on each appointment individually.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Appoint one City representative to fill the vacancy as an alternate on the Citizens
Transportation Advisory Committee to complete a term ending December 2014.
