TO: Honorable City Council FROM: Maureen Benson, City Clerk Yriv DATE: July 6, 2014 (CC Meeting of 7/16/14) SUBJECT: Consider Voting Delegate and Alternates for League of California Cities Annual Conference — September 3rd -5th in Los Angeles The League of California Cities (League) has provided the City with instructions for Council to designate a voting delegate and up to two alternate voting delegates in order to vote at the 2014 Annual Conference Business Meeting. The Conference will be held September 3rd -5th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Only individuals who have registered for the conference may be designated as voting delegates. The League procedures require the City Council to designate the voting delegate and up to two alternates. At the present time, Councilmember Pollock will be attending the conference. Mayor Parvin is not planning to attend; therefore, Councilmember Pollock would be the voting delegate. Any other attending Councilmember, the City Manager, or Deputy City Manager may be designated as voting delegate alternates.
