OF THE TEEN COUNCIL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting of the Teen Council of the City of
Moorpark is hereby called to be held on September 17, 2014 commencing at 4:00 p.m. Said
meeting will convene at Arroyo Vista Recreation Center located at 4550 Tierra Rejada Road,
Moorpark, California. Said Special Meeting shall be for the purpose of considering the

A. Approval of 09-3-14 Special Meeting Minutes.
8. ADJOURNMENT:
All writings and documents provided to the Teen Council regarding the agenda items are available for public
inspection at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center public counter located at 4550 Tierra Rejada Road during regular
business hours. The agenda for all special Teen Council meetings is also available on the City's website at
www.ci.moorpark.ca.us.

1. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m. by Dylan Gunning.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge was led by Olivia Ordin.
3. ROLL CALL:
Present: Bridget Aamoth, Andrew Austin, Ryan Bermont, Josh Donner, Natalie
Garcia, Megan Gratke, Kanika Gulia, Lila Masson, Gavin Mazur, Olivia Ordin,
Siddhi Salunke, Laura Traffenstedt.
Absent: Matiana Gajda, Samantha Gajda, Stone Hagman-Lawson.
Staff Present: Dylan Gunning.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT:
Blanca Garza thanked the new Teen Council for their participation.
5. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS:
A. Oath of Allegiance to be administered by the Deputy City Clerk.
The Deputy City Clerk presented the Oath of Allegiance.
B. Welcome Teen Council Members
Dylan Gunning welcomed the 2014-2015 Teen Council members.
C. Overview of Meeting Rules and Procedures
The Brown Act was presented to the Teen Council.
D. Teen Council Members Expectations
Dylan Gunning discussed the expectations of the Teen Council including
attendance of members at all meetings and events. Teen Council is
responsible for developing new programming ideas for the teen population
and assisting with all aspects of the programming including the
development and promotion of the teen programming.
E. Overview of Meeting Rules and Procedures (City Council Policies

Teen Council was presented City Council Policies Resolution — Policy 6.7:
Teen Council.
F. 1) Day, time, and location.
2) Frequency (monthly or bi-monthly)
3) Determine months when no regular meetings will be held (i.e. June,
July, and August). Special meetings may be scheduled if needed.
Regular Meeting will take place the 1st Wednesday of the month at
4:00 p.m. at Arroyo Vista Recreation Center.
G. Upcoming Teen Programs
Saturday, September 13, 2014: The Underground.
Saturday, September 20, 2014: Volunteer Day.
Saturday, October 4, 2014: Cupcake Challenge, Halloween Edition.
Saturday, October 25, 2014: Halloween Fest 'n Films.
Saturday, November 22, 2014: Pizza Challenge.
H. Teen Council Q &A
The question was asked about increasing the amount of teens at events.
Dylan Gunning presented a goal for each member of Teen Council to be
responsible of getting at minimum of three teens to each event.

None.
7. CONSENT CALENDAR
MOTION: Teen Council member Laura Traffenstedt moved and Teen Council member
Megan Gratke seconded a motion to approve the Consent Calendar. The motion
carried by voice vote 12 - 0, Teen Council members Matiana Gajda, Samantha Gajda,
Stone Hagman-Lawson were absent.
A. Consider Regular Meeting Minutes of 05-07-2014. Staff Recommendation:
Approve the minutes.
8. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m. by Dylan Gunning.
