SUBJECT: Consider Notice of Completion for the Campus Canyon Drive and
Monroe Avenue Curb Ramp Replacement Project
DISCUSSION
On November 5, 2014, the City signed an agreement for the construction of the Campus
Canyon Drive and Monroe Avenue Curb Ramp Replacement Project with AR Pipeline,
Inc. The Notice to Proceed for construction was effective on November 7, 2014, with a
contract completion date of November 11, 2014. Portions of the work had to be removed
and reconstructed and all work was completed by December 19, 2014.
The scope of work for this project included removing and replacing existing curb ramps,
and sidewalk to relocate the existing school crosswalk to the northside of the intersection.
The relocation of the crosswalk has improved the flow of traffic at the intersection
especially during student drop-off and pick-up times at the adjacent school. Project
design, contract administration and inspection were performed by City staff.
Final inspection has been completed and the work has been found to be acceptable. At
this time it would be appropriate for the City Council to accept the project as complete so
that the City Clerk may record the Notice of Completion (attached).
FISCAL IMPACT
The total cost of the project is $15,374 funded from Fund 2603, TDA Article 8A. The
Moorpark Unified School District has agreed to contribute $7,500 for the project which
has improved the flow of traffic around the school.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion for the project.

improvement. Civil Code Section 9200 provides that completion of a work of improvement occurs at the earliest of
(a)acceptance of the work of improvement by the public entity or(b) cessation of labor on the work of improvement for a
continuous period of 60 days.
