MOORPARK CITY COUNCIL
AGENDA REPORT
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
From: Hugh R. Riley, Assistant City Manager`
DATE: January 9, 2001 (Meeting of 1/17/01)
SUBJECT: Relocation of Chamber of Commerce Offices to 18
High Street
Background:
The Moorpark Chamber of Commerce is interested in
relocating its offices to High Street. The benefits of such
a move have been previously discussed by the City and the
Chamber of Commerce.
Discussion:
On January 8, 2001 the Council Economic Development
Committee met with representatives of the Moorpark Chamber
of Commerce and staff and discussed relocating the
Chamber's offices to a location on High Street. The
possible lease of the Redevelopment Agency owned building
at 18 High Street was discussed. This building is presently
being leased to Charles Abbott and Associates who provide
the City's Building Safety and Engineering Services.
The Economic Development Committee recommends that the City
Council direct staff to develop plans for the relocation of
the Chamber of Commerce Offices to 18 High Street and to
assess the benefits and impacts of the relocation on city
services and space needs.
