Dear Commissioners,
I would like to request that the Moorpark Jaycees be put
on the agenda for your August 14 meeting. We would like
to ask to be excused from the standard payment schedule
for the Community Center rental. We have deposited $50.00
to hold the room on August 17 and would like to pay the
balance on the night of the event, due to lack of funds
in our treasury. The Sock Hop is a fund raiser for the
Moorpark Food Pantry but we plan to take all costs out of
the admissions collected.
Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
Sincerely,
4.31

BUSINESS ITEMS 8/14/85 AGENDA
6B1 PC-3 Community Park Access Options - Tho response from the
M.U.S.D. concerning the impact of both options on their site
planning has not been received. They have been invited to
attend the meeting to provide this information.
6D. Monte Vista Nature Park - The developer of the park site,
Marlborough, had anticipated completion of the remaining
items by this time. As of August 9, these items have not
been completed.
6C. Country Days Dance - A band for the dance has been tentatively
scheduled with confirmation to come after the August 14 ,
meeting. Arrangements for the BBQ to precede the dance and
bar concession at the dance are being discussed with the
potential providers (Moose or Elks) . The committee is
scheduled to meet prior to the August 14 , meeting to confirm
pending arrangements and complete cost estimates . A report
will be provided at the meeting.
6E. Review of Proposed Park Master Plan - Copies of the proposed
plan will be distributed prior to the meeting.
6F . Replacement of Mini Blinds in room adjacent to City Offices -
Staff has obtained a cost estimate to replace the mini-blinds
on the sliding glass doors . These blinds are damaged beyond
repair. We recommend that thay be replaced with vinyl vertical
blinds . They should be less susceptible to damage and more
easily maintained. The cost is estimated at $425 . 00 .
It is apparantely not possible to match the proposed vertical
blinds with the remaining mini-blinds for the windows . If
they were also replaced it would cost an additional estimated
$315. 00.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Authorize replacement of the damaged mini blinds for the
sliding doors with vinyl vertical blinds in a color compatible
with the mini-blinds on the windows at a cost not to exceed
$425 . 00.

6H. Planning Commission suggestion re: change of meeting - The
Moorpark school district has suggested that the Planning
Commission not meet on Thursdays since it conflicts with the
regularly scheduled Board meetings . The Planning Commission
had previously indicated a willingness to move its meeting
date so it wouldn' t meet the same week as Council and to aviod
restricting the rental of the Community Center.
In an attempt to meet these concerns the Planning Commission
has asked staff to discuss with the Parks and Recreation
Commission the shift of meeting dates as follows:

Planning 2 & 4 TH 2 & 4 W
Parks 2 & 4 W 1 & 3 W
