Mutual Concerns and Issues of the City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission. Staff Recommendation: Direct staff as deemed appropriate. CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNMENT - CONTINUATION OF REGULAR PARKS ® AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING 5. PROCLAMATIONS, COMMENDATIONS, AND SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS 6. REORDERING OF, AND ADDITIONS TO, THE AGENDA: 7. PUBLIC COMMENTS: 8. CONSENT CALENDAR: A. Approval of the Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes of February 8, 1993. Staff Recommendation: Approve as presented. B. Park Status Report. Staff Recommendation: Receive and file. C. Proposed Name for Park Site and Adjacent Street in the Virginia Colony Area. Staff Recommendation: That the Parks and Recreation Commission recommend to the City Council that the park site located on the east end of Avenida Colonia, on the street currently named Los Angeles Place,be formally named "Virginia Colony Park"; and that the street currently named "Los Angeles Place" be renamed "Virginia Colony Place" to better identify the park site. ® D. Wood Treatment of Playground Equipment Report for North Meadows, Campus and Glenwood Parks. Staff Recommendation: Receive and file the report. E. Update on 10th Anniversary Celebration Plans. Staff Recommendation: Receive and file the report. 9. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS: A. 1993 Summer Day Camp Proposal. Staff Recommendation: That the Parks and Recreation Commission recommend to the City Council the implementation of the 1993 Summer Day Camp Program,with the understanding that the program operate only if it is totally self-sufficient, and that expenditures and revenues be included in the 1993-94 recreation budget. B. Consider Development of a Master Plan for the Arts. Staff Recommendation: That the Park and Recreation Commission direct staff to develop an outline for a Master Plan for the Arts and report back at the May, 1993, meeting. 10. Any member of the public may address the Commission during the Public Comments portion of the Agenda. SPEAKER CARDS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SECRETARY PRIOR TO THE CALL TO ORDER OF THE MEETING. Speakers will be heard in the order that their Speaker Cards are received. A limitation of 3 minutes shall be imposed upon each speaker. * Discussion/Action Items which are judged by the Director of Community Services to be of high priority.
