SUBJECT: Consider Executive Secretary Job Share Position
BACKGROUND:
The Executive Secretary has requested
job share arrangement for her present
being made for personal reasons. The

employee to share the full -time position of Executive Secretary.
The additional person selected for the job share position would
work two to four hours in the afternoon, Monday through Friday.
The current employee benefits would be prorated between the two
Executive Secretaries, and the total costs for this shared
Position would not exceed the costs of the current full -time
Position.
If approved, the City would proceed to advertise for qualified
applicants. The deadline for filing would be approximately July
31, with interviews taking place in August, and the position
starting the beginning of September 1995. The person selected
would have comparable qualifications, skills and abilities. To
insure a pool of qualified applicants, the position would be
advertised with shorthand skills as desirable but not required as
is currently the case.
I am supportive of the Executive Secretary's request and am
willing to proceed with this concept.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Executive Secretary Job Share Position as outlined
above and proceed with recruitment.
