SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO CLEAN AIR FOND ADVISORY COMMITTEE
BACKGROUND
The Clean Air Fund Advisory Committee consists of 11 members with
representation from four interest groups: citizen; transportation;
civic and environmental; and business. The vacancy that currently
exists is for a representative from the citizens group. This is a
City Council nomination with the actual appointment to be made by
the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. The term does not have a
specified expiration. The Committee studies ways to reduce air
pollution that are not currently required by regulations or laws.
The Advisory Committee recommends specific projects to the Air
Pollution Control Board for funding from the Clean Air fund. The
Committee meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 3:00 P.M. AT
702 County Square Drive, Ventura.
David Vandaveer was the City's past appointment to the Clean Air
Fund Advisory Committee. He resigned from the Committee January 7,
1994. Notice of the vacant appointment was published in the
Moorpark News Mirror requesting interested persons to contact the
City Clerk, a press release was prepared and provided to the
newspapers and a notice of the vacancy was placed on Citizen Link
and on Channel 10..
One application has been received relative to this position from
Michael Madrid. The Council has previously been provided a copy of
Mr. Madrid's application.
