FROM: Jaime Aguilera, Director of Community Developmene /-/
Deborah S. Traffenstedt, Senior Planner
DATE: April 26, 1994 (CC Meeting of 5- 18 -94)
SUBJECT: CONSIDER RESCINDING AUTHORIZATION FOR THE PROCESSING OF
A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT APPLICATION FOR ABE GUNY'S 42-
ACRE PROPERTY LOCATED WEST OF WALNUT CANYON ROAD AND
NORTH OF CASEY ROAD
Background
At the City Council's meeting of September 16, 1992, the Council
authorized staff to accept and process a General Plan Amendment
application for the Guny property, to designate the property as a
Specific Plan area with a density limit of 68 dwelling units and a
maximum density of 46 dwelling units. No application for a General
Plan amendment was subsequently filed by Mr. Guny, and he is no
.longer the owner of the subject property.
Discussion
Over a year and a half has passed since the City Council authorized
the filing and processing of a General Plan amendment for the
subject 42 -acre property, and no application has been submitted.
Mr. Guny has informed staff that he no longer owns the property.
Rescinding the authorization for the processing of a General Plan
amendment application would appear to be the appropriate action,
until such time as the current owner is ready to proceed with the
development of the property and provides the City Council with an
actual project proposal.
Recommendation
Rescind authorization for the processing of a General Plan
amendment application for the 42 -acre property formerly owned by
Abe Guny and located west of Walnut Canyon Road and north of Casey
Road.
