Traffenstedt, Senior Planner April 26, 1994 (CC Meeting of 5- 18 -94) SUBJECT: CONSIDER RESCINDING AUTHORIZATION FOR THE PROCESSING OF A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT AND ZONE CHANGE APPLICATION FOR WILLIAM AND MILDRED LA PERCH'S 25.73 -ACRE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 7200 WALNUT CANYON ROAD Background At the City Council's meeting of January 20, 1993, the Council authorized staff to accept and process a General Plan Amendment and zone change application for the La Perch property, to change the land use designation from Open Space 1 (10 -40 acres /dwelling unit) to Rural Low (5 acres /dwelling unit) and to change the zoning from Rural Agricultural 10 -Acres to Rural Exclusive 5 Acres. No application for a General Plan amendment and zone change was subsequently filed by Mr. and Mrs. La Perch. Discussion Over a year has passed since the City Council authorized the filing and processing of a General Plan amendment and zone change. Mr. La Perch was contacted on April 26, 1994, and informed staff that he has no intent to file such application in the near future. He was also informed that it was staff's intent to schedule this matter before the City Council and request that the City Council rescind its authorization for a General Plan amendment /zone change to be filed and processed for his property. Recommendation Rescind authorization for the processing of a General Plan amendment and zone change application for William and Mildred La Perch's 25.73 -acre property located at 7200 Walnut Canyon Road.
