Gilbert, Director of Public Works 17 r DATE: November 4, 1994 (Council Meeting 11-16-94) SUBJECT: Consider Authorizing Recordation of the Notice of Completion for the Restoration of the Slope on Lot 97 -- Tract 3049 BACKGROUND On October 5, 1994, the City Council awarded a contract to William L. Murdock, Inc. for the construction of the subject project. DISCUSSION A. Project Description This project provided for the import and placement of fill material in an eroded area of the slope on Lot 97 of Tract 3049, located east of the residential properties on the east side of Hastings Street (See Exhibit 'A' ) . The project also included the construction of a concrete "V-ditch" to convey storm water down the slope and to prevent a reoccurrence of the erosion problem. B. Completion The construction of these improvements have been completed in accordance with the requirements of the plans and specifications as well as the recommendations of the soils engineer. C. Fiscal Impact A summary of total project costs is as follows: Soils Analysis (AGI) 2 ,700 Construction 19,501 Inspection 3 ,300 Irrigation Repair/ Slope Stabilization . . 736 Total 26, 237 The above total project cost is within the funding amount previously approved by the City Council. slp_ap 00062 A & R Slope November 1994 Page 2 RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions: 1. Accept the work as completed. 2. Instruct the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion for the project. 3 .
