CITY OF MOORPARK,CALIFORNIA City Council Meeting of /0-D1-Z0/5 ACroN: /,1 /44-4-144.d MOORPARK CITY COUNCIL A • "'"77 - AGENDA REPORT BY: Ln-1 _ TO: Honorable City Council FROM: Dave Klotzle, City Engineer/Public Works Director DATE: September 28, 2015 (CC Meeting of 10/7/15) fff ((( SUBJECT: Consider Grant of Easement to Southern California Edison Company for the Metrolink Moorpark Avenue Railroad Crossing Improvement Project DISCUSSION The subject project is under construction by Metrolink and includes widening the west side of Moorpark Avenue between High Street and the railroad tracks. The widening requires relocation of two existing Southern California Edison Company (SCE) power poles to the west. The pole on the north side of the railroad tracks must be relocated approximately ten feet to the west, into the property owned by the City on the southwest corner of Moorpark Avenue and High Street. The new pole will be located in the open landscaped area behind the sidewalk. An eight-foot wide easement from the City to SCE is required to grant access to install and maintain the SCE pole and power lines. The relocation of the SCE power poles is expected to occur by the end of 2015. The attached easement documentation has been prepared by SCE and staff is requesting that City Council approve the grant of easement to SCE and authorize the Mayor to sign the easement grant deed. FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact related to the grant of easement to SCE. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Approve the grant of easement to Southern California Edison Company for installation and maintenance of poles, wires and appurtenances as required by the Metrolink Moorpark Avenue Railroad Crossing Improvement Project.
