Gilbert, Director of Public Works DATE: March 30, 1993 (Council Meeting 4 -7 -93) SUBJECT: Consider Resolution No. 'ti�'to Change the Name of Los Angeles Place to Virginia Colony Place On March 9, 1993, The Parks and Recreation Commission took action recommending adoption of the name Virginia Colony Park for the park site located at the corner of Los Angeles Place and S. Condor Drive. At that meeting the Commission also recommended that the street name for Los Angeles Place be changed to Virginia Colony Place in order to better identify the neighborhood and the park. A letter of intent has been mailed to the Ventura County Fire Department notifying them of the City's intent to consider this subject street name change. The City is in receipt of a letter from the Fire Department stating that they have no objection to the proposed street name change (see Exhibit 1). On March 22, 1993, notices (Exhibit 2) were mailed to all of the residents and property owners affected by the proposed street name change, notifying them of a public hearing to consider the subject action. At the writing of this report no response has been received. A public hearing to consider the proposed street name change has been scheduled for April 7, 1993. All affected property owners have been notified of said hearing in accordance with the requirements of applicable sections of the Government Code.
