Lindley, Assistant to the City Manager , June 23, 1993 (CC Meeting of 7/7) FY 1993/94 TDA Claim for Streets and Transit Funds The Southern California Association of Governments estimates that the City of Moorpark's FY 1993/94 Transportation Development Act (TD AL) allocation will be $505,546. TDA revenue is generated from a sales tax on gasoline sales and must be spent on transit and street improvement and maintenance related projects. His rically, the City has funded its bus service from its TDA funds; the remaining allocation has been budgeted for street imp ovements and maintenance. In addition to the traditional uses, in FY 1992/93 the City designated a total of $53,500 for the Met olink Station for construction ($48,000) and security guards ($5 500). On Zune 16, Council approved the contract with Antelope Bus Service for 1993/94 at a cost not to exceed $93,900. Council's action inc uded an allocation of $88,100 from TDA funds and $5,800 from the General Fund to fund the bus service contract. In addition, the 1993/94 Budget approved by Council included $15,220 for the Met link Station maintenance (sweeping, landscape maintenance, and general maintenance and repair) and $12,480 for staton sec ity. The City's total proposed TDA transit claim (8c) for 199'/94 would be $121,600. The remaining TDA allocation of $38 ,946 would go towards street maintenance and repair (8a) . This pro osal is consistent with the State's TDA guidelines for use of the funds. The City must adopt a resolution and approve the submittal of the TDA laim to receive the funds. The claim will be reviewed by the Ven ura County Transportation Commission and SCAG before it is sub itted to the State. Staff recommends that Council adopt Resolution 93- ' t, . directing the staff to file the 1993/94 TDA claim as outlined in the staff rep t, and authorize the City Manager to sign the claim for subrittal to VCTC.
