AGENDA REPORT
C =TY OF MOORPARK
TO: The Honorable City Council n.
FROM: Kenneth C. Gilbert, Director of Public Works
DATE: June 30, 1993 (Council Meeting 7-7-93)
SUBJECT: Consider Resolution No. Establishing NO
STOPPING ANYTIME Zones on Tierra Rejada Road from
Spring Road easterly to the Route 23 Freeway
The City is proceeding with the realignment and widening of
Tierra Rejada Road. Upon completion of this project the full
length of Tierra Rejada Road will be a full -width four -lane
divided highway with painted Bike Lanes at the edge of
pavement.
Consistent with the parking restrictions already established
west of Spring Road, it would be appropriate to establish NO
STOPPING ANYTIME zones on Tierra Rejada Road west of Spring
Road.
The attached resolution provides for the immediate placement
of signs in the area east of the construction project, and
the posting of the remainder of the affected area after the
construction project is completed. The limits of the
proposed parking restrictions only extend to the westerly
edge of the freeway. This would allow for the continued use
of the area under the freeway for limited car pool parking.
If parking or cars for sale under the freeway becomes a
problem in the future, the City may consider appropriate
additional parking restrictions at that time.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached
resolution establishing NO STOPPING ANYTIME zones on both
sides of Tierra Rejada Road from Spring Road to the Route 23
Freeway.
