CONSIDER PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR PHASE II OF
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 92 -1 (MISSION BELL PLAZA)
On ugust 19, 1992 the City Council adopted a Resolution of Intention to create Assessment
Dis ct 92 -1 in conjunction with the Mission Bell Plaza.
vements included in this Assessment District:
Street improvements:
a. Los Angeles Avenue from Park Lane to approximately 200 feet west of Liberty
Bell Road. Improvements on the north side of Los Angeles Ave. include curb,
gutter and sidewalk. Improvements on the south side of L.A. Avenue include
widening the street to the ultimate width of 118 feet and the construction of curb,
gutter and sidewalk.
b. Park Lane from Los Angeles Ave. to Lassen Ave., full width improvements
including curb, cutter, and sidewalk.
C. Lassen Avenue west of Park Lane, full width improvements including curb, gutter
and sidewalk.
d. Liberty Bell Road, both north and south of Los Angeles Ave. Improvements north
of L.A. Ave. will include full width improvements up to the first driveway of the
plaza. Improvements on the south side of L.A. Ave. are necessary to facilitate the
widening of L.A. Ave. and will include full width improvements on the east and
interim widening on the west.

Con truction of the above mentioned improvements require that the City receive public bids.
Pha I (all improvements outside of the State right of way) of the Assessment District have
prev ously been bid and are currently under construction. Phase II (within the Caltrans right of
way, are currently in final review by Caltrans and should be approved within the next few weeks
with I only minor changes. Plans and specifications for the Phase II improvements will be
sub itted to the Council under a separate item. Any changes desired by the Council can be
mad at this time.
Staf will advertise for Phase II bids upon approval by Caltrans. It is believed that a contract
shou be awarded in mid August. To expedite the Phase II construction, Staff has already
orde d the fabrication of the traffic signal hardware.
